The Meridian Public School District recently hosted the annual Retirement Reception to honor district personnel who are retiring after years of hard work and dedication to the students of Meridian.

“Over the years, these retirees have played an important role in the Meridian Public School District, and they have made a tremendous impact on the lives of so many students,” said MPSD Superintendent Dr. Amy Carter.  “I want to personally thank them for their dedication and service to the students of Meridian because our journey towards excellence could not have been achieved without them.”

The Retirement Reception was held on Tuesday, May 9 in the Kahlmus Auditorium on the Meridian Campus of Mississippi State University from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

In all, the Meridian Public School District has 31 retirees that represent over 767 years of experience in education.

The 2017 retirees are: Allison Anderson, Magnolia Middle School; Randall Bohannon, Transportation; Anita Bond, Office of Exceptional Child Education; Donna Boswell, Central Office Accounting; Mary Alice Brown, Oakland Heights Elementary School; Willie Ray Clark, Transportation; Ann Compton, Nurse; Ellen Compton, Parkview Elementary School; Jerry Phillip Crenshaw, Carver Middle School; Marilyn Davis, Meridian High School; Lyn Drake, Meridian High School; Jo Ellen French, Meridian High School; Johnny Ray Goodwin, Transportation; Clara Grice, Parkview Elementary School; John Griggs, Transportation; Susan Hardaway, West Hills Elementary School; Marie Harvey, Central Office Receptionist; Vicki Hatcher, Meridian High School; Susan Hester, Instructional Specialist; Pranati Johnson, Meridian High School; Perry McNeal, Transportation; Terry Moore, Central Office Human Resources; Tom Pearson, Meridian High School; Rita Riess, T.J.
